The hamlet is recognised for its Kanjivaram or Kanchipuram saree, which is a well-known saree all over the world. The name has been derived from the village’s name Kanchipuram then kanjivaram silk as both the names are the same and later it was translated to Conjeevaram silk by the British.
All silk sarees were previously weaved and done by expert professionals. The history of Kanchipuram silk sarees and other silk sarees continues to inspire many other communities and rural Indians.
