I bet there will not be a single woman who isn’t fond of the polka dots print. The polka dots became popular in the late nineteenth century in the United Kingdon. They later came in vogue in India as well.
The dots were earlier equally sized and spaced relatively closely in relation to their diameters. Many modern prints include more randomly spaced, sized and coloured dots. This fun and playful print was much seen on women's skirts, scarfs, kids wear and furniture. The popularity of these simple dots in varied colours look cute on everything. Later with the evolution in trends and styles the polka dots gained a special place in the fashion industry. Right from Hollywood to Bollywood divas, including women and men both were spotted flaunting the polka dots on a number of attires and accessories. And that caught up with Sarees as well. Sarees with polka print on the pallu, blouse and few on half and half Sarees are well known.
The polka dots added a fun element to this traditional attire. If you wish to play a bit with your saree opt for a polka dotted blouse, or a half sarees with polka dots. Right from Dimple Kapadia to Sonam Kapoor all have carried this printed with utmost elegance looking their best.
