•Posted on June 09 2014
To buy any Saree that you want is quite simple and easy these days. Be it Chanderi, Kota, Paithani or anything else. All you do is go to a local store in your city and you would find it there. If not, you have online shopping that gives you the privilege of buying anything with just one click. However, if you love to travel and are a Saree fan at the same time, why not visit the place where your favourite Saree gets manufactured? If that’s sounds as exciting as it actually is. Let’s start the exploring now.
Chanderi silk has been one of the most loved Sarees. Women from different parts of the country like to don this rich and elegant piece of fabric. Pranpur, Madhya Pradesh is the place where the Chanderi Silk Saree is manufactured. The greatest part of the village population is part of the weavers community engaged in the production of Chanderi fabric. For centuries, Chanderi has been woven here. Chanderi is produced using three raw materials: cotton, silk thread, and zari.
So if you are a travel freak and love Chanderi Silk, a visit to the Pranpur should definitely been on your list. Watch how your favourite silk saree is woven, try your hand at it and get one made for you in your favourite colour.
